I've had a few blogs in the past, (well, one blog i've moved around a few times.) but its always came around a bit sterile and not very interesting to read, its also quite short as I never really like writing for it. I like being expressive with thoughts, but I find that all too often the size of the audience on my other blog scares me away from writing things that feel personal.
JakesSneaks.net feels like I should be at the New York Stock Exchange, everybody frantically surfing around and talking and looking for what they want to buy or sell or trade today. There's nothing wrong with that either, I like the activity it gets, I want to find ways to harness that energy to make the site feel even more interactive and alive too, but its not a good atmosphere for a blog.
Here, imagine a quiet coffee shop or bookstore, modestly lit, with a nice fragrance in the air, probably of worn boot leather mixed with cinnamon given my particularly interests, people quietly browsing around and reading through the pages of the novel, its a quiet conversation place, a small gathering of people, invited to listen to whatever I have to say today. I promise nothing here, not even to be interesting, only to express whats on my mind to say when I feel it.
As for what will happen with my 'other' blog. I'm not a prophet, I don't really know, we'll see though.

Hi Jake
I also have a sneaker fetish, and seeing that there is very little appropriate material online for my enjoyment of such a thing, I am always on the look out and searching for others who have the same interests as I. I was so excited to come across your blog and all your pictures and stories. I feel that your interests and mine are very similar. I am a college student, 18 years old, and I love guy's shoes. I am really big into Nikes specifically and have a pretty big collection.
But anyhow, I just figured I'd leave a note for you and see if maybe you'd like to chat sometime, on an instant messenger or even just through email, as any contact with someone who shares my interest is really exciting. I hope you will drop me a line or something and maybe I can tell you more about myself and likewise.
If you are interested in talking, just ask and I can give you an IM address or something.
Thanks!
-Nathan
